Creating the right environment for your business
BioLogiQ provides technical consultancy and training services in the fields of carbon, energy, environment, ecology, health & safety, laboratory, quality, corporate social responsibility and sustainability. We work as a team to provide quality services that exceed customer expectations by working closely with our clients to help them understand their key issues and risks, and to identify and develop their business requirements to deliver the improvements that they need.
As part of our policy and standards, we ensure continuous improvement of our services by setting and achieving quality and sustainability objectives and targets, corrective actions and management review. To further improve the quality of our training courses we obtain certification by relevant bodies where appropriate.
BioLogiQ has a relatively small ecological footprint mainly associated with the running of an office and travel requirements. We take measures to prevent pollution and continuously improve our management system to go beyond the minimum Irish and EU regulatory requirements and achieve best practice in our field.
We believe that the issues of social and economic sustainability, resource wastage and environmental disruption and pollution can only be addressed by use of a sustainable approach to business. This involves setting a positive example by identifying our own environmental aspects and taking responsibility to prevent or reduce the associated impacts, and, where this is not possible, by offsetting the remaining impacts to achieve “carbon-balanced” status. To this end:
- We improve the energy efficiency of our equipment and facilities to minimise our energy consumption.
We use sustainable products with low environmental impacts and minimise, reuse and recycle our wastes.
- We employ public transport where possible and offset greenhouse gas emissions arising from our unavoidable energy needs through our peatlands restoration initiative with Green Restoration Ireland (GRI).
Through our work we promote the development of sustainable businesses and communities by raising awareness of sustainability issues and by promoting sustainable measures including effective quality control and management of energy, raw materials, emissions and waste, conservation of natural resources and habitats, and safe practices among the wider community and organisations that we work with.

Our Standards
At BioLogiQ we believe that a good business is effective, safe, sustainable and profitable. To this end, we fully integrate quality, safety and sustainability concerns into our business to better help you integrate them into yours. BioLogiQ has designed, produced and implemented an integrated sustainability management system based on the recommended approach of PAS 99:2012 “Specification of common management system requirements as a framework for integration” to incorporate the requirements of ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001: 2018 standards as well as ISO 14064-1:2018 to responsibly manage our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
This system enables us to address our sustainability policy and comply with our ethical responsibility to lead by example and reduce our own environmental impacts including our carbon and ecological footprints. Hence, in our own business, we put sustainability into practice by:
- Reusing, reducing and recycling our waste,
Reducing our energy and fuel usage,
- Purchasing sustainable products,
- Producing a greenhouse gas inventory, and
- Carbon offsetting of the electrical, fuel and heating energy that we are obliged to use.
We also act to address the issue of biodiversity loss by raising awareness of biodiversity through our activities, by promoting biodiversity conservation measures and through our habitat restoration initiative with Green Restoration Ireland (GRI).
To take responsibility for those greenhouse gas emissions which we cannot avoid, we purchase CarbonBalanced carbon offsets which by meeting Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance standards contribute to the preservation of biodiversity and support of sustainable communities. The certificate for our cumulative GHG offsets for 2019 can be downloaded here: Cumulative Carbon Balanced Certificate BioLogiQ (our 2020 offsets will be through GRI).
Lastly, we actively promote sustainability through the ongoing development of environmentally-responsible and sustainable business practices and consulting services. Also, when you attend any of our public Energy, Environmental or Sustainability courses, we offset the carbon emissions from all our courses including your travel and other activities using the Carbon Balanced Programme of the World Land Trust (WLT) and/or GRI.
